I’ve never purchased a plaque before. where do I begin?
Visit our Request Quote page, and fill in as many details as you are able. You will receive a price quote to help you determine if the project is within your budget range. If you prefer to discuss your project over the phone, our customer service number is (718) 283-4109. We’re here to help and will suggest materials, styles and sizes to fit your project's needs.
How are plaques priced? Why isn’t there a price list on your website?
All of our quotes are custom; although our plaque prices are generally based on size and metal type. Other additions to the plaque (complex graphic logos, portraits, custom shapes, decorative borders, etc.) can affect this price. Unless you request otherwise, we will always quote the smallest plaque size possible for the text you would like to include.
Who designs the plaque?
We assume that most projects will need some design assistance, and an hour of design time is built into our pricing. If you are happy with our initial price quote, we then provide a custom design free of charge. If a significant amount of design development is required for your project, we will discuss design fees with you before creating the final art. We require signed approval on all of our plaque designs before beginning production.
What file types are used for plaque designs?
We create the designs for our plaques in Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .eps, .pdf). Vector artwork allows us to create patterns for our plaques with crisp lines without pixelation or distortion. If you do not have a vector file of the logo or illustration that you would like on your plaque, send us whatever you have and we can work with you to convert your files into a usable format. Portrait plaque customers should send us a high-resolution jpeg image (at least 300dpi). There should be very minimal to no pixelation.
Does MWP provide metal samples?
Masterwork Plaques has a small lending collection of existing samples that we can ship to you for your reference free of charge. It should be returned to us after you’ve decided on the proper material. If you prefer to see a sample using your own project’s design, these samples take about two weeks to produce for a variable fee.
How long does it take to produce a plaque? Do you have rush options?
Standard manufacturing time for our projects is four weeks. A 10-business day delivery is also available for an additional fee if you need your plaque in a crunch. If you have a specific delivery date and are not sure whether we can accommodate your schedule, call our customer service number (718) 283-4109. We can discuss the project and offer some alternatives if we can’t meet your deadline.
Do you work with government agencies?
Masterwork Plaques is a certified WBE (Women-owned Business Enterprise) for both NYC and New York State. We have extensive experience navigating the government vendor process with appropriate DUNS, CAGE and SAM accounts in place. For government agencies developing bid packages for upcoming projects, MWP has a library of detailed drawings and written specifications to share.
When do I pay for the order?
For most projects, we ask for a 50% deposit. The remaining balance and shipping charges are then billed after the plaque has been delivered. If your company prefers to pay less than 50% before production, we require a signed purchase order to begin manufacturing. We accept checks by mail and offer secure credit card processing online.
Where can I write a review for your company?
We are a small business and value our customer’s feedback. Yelp and Google+ help our company attract new potential customers and build a community surrounding our business.
